La mati\u00e8re principale est notre mat\u00e9riau s\u00e9dimentaire, en teinte brute. Les s\u00e9diments proviennent d’un petit port du Mor Braz, le port de Quiberon. Nous y avons ajout\u00e9 des d\u00e9chets coquillers, des coquilles d’hu\u00eetres, de moules ou de Saint-Jacques, pour cr\u00e9er ce terrazzo 100% marin, 100% breton ! Le Merrazzo d’hu\u00eetres prend des reflets nacr\u00e9s, le Merrazzo de moules est davantage sur des tons bleut\u00e9s et noirs, et le Merrazzo de Saint-Jacques pr\u00e9sente quant \u00e0 lui des nuances de rose p\u00e2le et corail.
\nEach tray is handmade in our workshop in Brest.<\/p>\n
The trays are an abstraction of shells. Their rough, raw exterior is like the outer shell. The interior, on the other hand, is riddled with shell fragments, evoking the mother of pearl and the interior of the shell. The very simple geometry of the trays makes them easy to combine, and allows them to adapt to any interior.<\/p>\n
Their surface is oiled with a natural oil, composed of a vegetable oil and an iron-based siccative. This oil penetrates the material and hardens, making the surface waterproof.
\nThe underside of the trays is covered with felt, pearly white for the oyster tray, navy blue for the mussel tray, and creamy white for the Saint-Jacques tray.<\/p>\n
